Saluto!

Welcoming in beautiful November has us searching for warmth from the sun by day and finding warmth by fireplace/pit gatherings with family and friends at night. On Thanksgiving Day gatherings, no matter how large or small, we give thanks to enjoy such bounty of good things we can find in our lives. A special thank you to our Veterans for all you have done and still do in service for our beautiful Country! Our founder, Dominic Sorrenti, was a WW2 Vet and we Salute his family for their extreme Patriotism. To you, thank you for being our customer and most importantly our friend!

On this day of Thanks, the meal, is a time to truly enjoy the delicious earthy rooted vegetables, and other traditional foods one may serve. Whether your main dish be a turkey, or other preference, it is a big day for a perfect wine selection. So really it is more about all the sides you are going to serve that makes this such a wine-pairing holiday!

Featured Wines of the Month

We have two wine suggestions for November pairings and they are our Cranberry Blush and Merlot, which is our wine of the month and at 10% off during November!

Our Cranberry Blush is a crispy not too sweet, not to tart wine that will surprise your palate unexpectedly, even for those who are not traditionally cranberry fans. An ultimate Thanksgiving wine pairing!

We certainly agree with our awesome Vintner, Ian Willams, “our Merlot, a full-bodied red with notes of cherry and blackberry aged in French Oak, is a delicious reminder of how Pennsylvania Grapes in our Merlot are as rich of flavor as the classic French Merlot wine.“

These both pair well with our featured recipes.

Easy Holiday Entertaining

Thanksgiving Day was always a welcoming time to take a breather from getting ready for the Holiday, kicking it off with Black Friday, that we didn’t always have the chance to cook the entire meal, and having some classic recipes to turn to, was so helpful! We are thankful for Aunt Betty who always enjoyed cooking during this busy time and the Manda Family who still welcomes us to enjoy this day with them!

Our founder, Mary Sorrenti, being an awesome cook and entertainer, would like to share a few recipes that are quite delish!

Mary’s Pork Roast

Large pork roast – slit almost thru – can add additional slits

Stuff slits with chunky sweet onions, large apple pieces & bay leaves

Tie together

Add coarse black pepper on top

In Baking Dish add 2 cups of our Apple Wine

Bake slowly at 300 degrees for 2 hours or more

Gravy

From drippings add ¼ cup of heavy cream and 2 tablespoons for flour – mix –

drizzle over roast

Serving

Cut in generous slices. Serve with Red Potatoes (boiled or mashed), along with

chunky applesauce, green beans and a salad!

Perfection…you can just taste it right now!!
